Show + Tell Monday {Home Edition}

Pin It Now!
Hooray for a new thing; Show + Tell Monday. I show you and tell you a little bit about myself. Below are 5 home related questions and answers.

If you were searching for a home now, tell me what would be on your "MUST" list.
  • Mud room-  I want a space that can store all our shoes, boots, mittens, umbrellas, etc. I envision a great storage bench that the Mr. could build for me, some darling hooks for coats, and the washer and dryer tucked in there somewhere.
  •  Attached Garage- {although we currently have one} It's one of the best things a home can offer. Not having to run outside to your car in the pouring down rain or not having to scrape 6 inches of snow off your car is simply put, awesome.
  • Master Bathroom- A space for just the Mr. and I to use, suited to our preferences. This would be especially important once we have kids. The shower would be the most important aspect as well as a soaking tub. Relax, relax, relax would be the bathroom's "theme".
  • Acreage- this includes a large backyard with deck and bonfire pit- This would only work if we moved out to the country.
  • Wood burning fireplace- For those winter nights when you just want to cozy up with a blanket and roast marshmallows in your living room.
  • Walkout Basement- Although we currently have a basement our next one would ideally be a walkout.

Show me your favorite room in a home {either your home, or any home, i.e. kitchen}.

The living room
We spend of lot of time in here as a family. To the right of the first picture are 3 {almost} floor to ceiling windows with the middle one being a door to our patio. I also love this room because it's flooded with natural light. These pictures were taken around 7:30 last night and there are no lights on. See what I mean?

If you could have any room redone, tell me which one would it be and what would you like done?

I wouldn't redo any of our rooms. Since we are living in a brand new town home each room is really nice. If we owned it I would change out some fixtures to our personal preference and I would also paint!

Tell me where your favorite stores are to shop for home decor.
I like to shop at Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware. I like to buy at Crate and Barrel, Home Goods/TJMaxx and Target {and Pottery Barn on clearance}.

Show me your dream home {it can be your home as well}.

This is one of many homes we like. Simple. Beautiful. Realistic. We love the plans and if we were to build this specific home on a couple acres in the country I would be wonderfully content {not that I'm not content right where I am now, because I am}.

A dream home doesn't mean a 5,000 square foot mansion dressed to the nines in marble flooring and stone archways. To us it's a cozy place to have family over, a homey, warm, and inviting place to raise children and someday watch grandchildren grow up. A place to bring home those adopted children and a place for itinerant missionaries to have a place to stay while in the States. It's a home dedicated to the Lord and His plans for us. That's our dream.

  2. Thanks for visiting my blog! I love yours! And I agree with you, I don't need a huge fancy house either. Give me something warm and cozy that the kids can play in and generations are raised in. That's home to me! :)
