Sunshine + Candy + Packers Football

Pin It Now!
We had a really great weekend. The kind where you're on the go most of the time. The kind where you don't have time to get some necessary things done {read grocery shopping, putting away clean laundry, and tidying up the house}.

Oh well. We were busy making memories. And that's all that really matters.

Here's what we were up to...

Rewind to Friday afternoon. The Mr. came home from his week at summer camp. It was a lovely reunion. We embraced for 47 minutes straight.

Just kidding. It was so wonderful to see him and have him back though.

My sister, Bree and I picked him up and whisked him away to do a little shopping with us. He is such a trooper and a shopper at heart, so it wasn't pure torture for the man.

After shopping we literally had to jump in the car and head to Lambeau Field the annual Packer's Family Night. On our way there we realized this was our 4th year going. We can't say enough about it. It's something we look forward to every year.

 {a green + gold affair}

1 our admission ticket//2 US Army Golden Knights Parachute Team*//3 #90 Raji, my favorite//4 Packers' scrimmage//5 the Mr. + I {all sweaty; it was HOT}//6 the offensive line doing a Lambeau Leap. When the Mr. pointed out how close Aaron Rodgers was he said I screamed the loudest. How embarrassing.

Can you find the Mr. + I? Follow the white cord in the middle to the top of the picture.

The Packers always end the evening with a spectacular firework show. This year was no different.

Saturday we were able to veg for a little bit. I cranked through several loads of laundry {thanks to the Mr. and all his stinky camp clothes, bedding, etc.} and watched a little of the Olympics.

That evening we had to be at our youth group for a Movie Premiere of The Puppet Chronicles. It was a movie made and directed by our youth that we premiered to them and some of their family members. It was a really fun night of fellowship, laughter, popcorn, soda, and candy. Perfection.
{I can't believe I didn't take any pictures. Kind of sad about that.}

Sunday after church we attended an annual parade and picnic. This specific parade is one that the Mr. has gone to his whole life and one we have attended together for 8 years. The Eden parade is known for the extreme amounts of candy thrown during the parade, which is obviously my favorite part, and the length you get to spend in the boiling sunshine. The Mr. usually battles it out with several small children to get his share. It's really quite hilarious.

 {His earning, my winnings}

This year the Wisconsin Badgers' marching band made an appearance.

 After the parade we met up with the Mr.'s parents to grab a bite to eat. Cheeseburgers, cheese curds, and pie. Mmmmm.

{Oh pie, how I love thee.}

My sweet mother in law along with some other women make all the pies together. She said this specific year they made 24 sheet pans of apple, cherry, and blueberry pie. They started at 5AM.

{About to savor every single bite of pie}

It was a really full, but yet again fun weekend. We are so blessed.

*Watching the Golden Knights means a little more to me than the average person. Both my Mom and Dad were on the US Army Golden Knight Parachute Team. I am so proud to be able to say that about them. Someday I will dedicate an entire post about their experiences and the experiences we have been able to have because of them!

  1. um hello pie!! i want that right now and of course a la mode. i am looking forward to football season actually this being my third season as a wife to a devoted chargers fan. and i actually really enjoy it plus the fact we are in a fantasy football league

  2. I SO wish that I was into football and understood the game, but I am ashamed to admit that neither of those is true. But I'm open! So I hope we can still be friends.

    That pie looks delicious! But can I ask..what are cheese curds???
