DIY Winter Branches

Pin It Now!

I'm always looking for new projects. When the Christmas decor boxes start making their way up from the basement the weekend after Thanksgiving, I am especially eager to tackle a festive craft. This little DIY is especially wonderful. After Christmas I will take the pretty red ornaments off, but leave the branches up all winter. 1 craft, 2 purposes. Awesome!

Here's how the project started. While the Mr. was hunting I texted him and asked him to bring me home a few branches. Later that night he waltzed in the door and declared, "Honey, I brought you flowers". I found him standing in the kitchen with a "bouquet" of tree branches.

After I had my branches all I had to do next was convince the Mr. to spray paint them a beautiful metallic silver. {I can't handle the strong fumes.} He obliged.

$3 dollars and .97 cents + 10 minutes later the branches were ready. Yes, just like the can states, dries in 10 minutes or less. So for less than $4 you can make a beautiful centerpiece perfect for Christmas and winter.

I love the way it turned out!

  5. It looks beautiful! I don't do spray painting either, but only because I pretty much make a mess of things. My husband is happy to oblige to save the cleanup. :-)
