Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins + Homemade Allspice

The recipe I'm sharing with you is my Grandma's recipe for Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins. Everyone say, "Thank you Grandma Barb!". 
Growing up we would receive these muffins in a harvest bag she made for each of us grandchildren every fall. It is one of my favorite recipes of hers. 

This weekend I whipped up a batch and as you can see they vanished pretty quick! 
They're that good. 

The plan is to make another batch before the days end! 

{Grandma's} Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

1/2 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon clove
1/4 teaspoon allspice*
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 eggs
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup pumpkin 

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease or line muffin tin. 

Combine dry ingredients. Set aside. 

In large bowl beat eggs. Stir in pumpkin, melted butter and chocolate chips. Add dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. 

Spoon batter into muffin tins. 

Bake 20-25 minutes. 


*Did you know that if you don't have allspice you can make it with a couple ingredients you have on hand?

Homemade Allspice

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon clove
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Stir spices to combine. Store in an airtight container. 

If you want a smaller or larger quantity of allspice, just remember to use equal parts of cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg.

  2. no way on the allspice recipe! i never knew that and that saves me from having to buy another spice i can make on my own. thanks girl and i love me some chocolate chip cookies anyday, now with pumpkin, my life is set!! :)
