Pin It Now!
Maybe it's just me, but lately I've been feeling stretched. Pulled in many directions, each demanding my time and attention.

How do we balance this thing called life. Because it is a balancing act, no?

We each only have so much time in one day and every minute is allotted to a certain task. Whether it be work, school, family, hobbies, sleep, etc.

I know for myself personally I have been struggling trying to balance it all without feeling like something or someone is being sacrificed.

Work. Husband. Family. Blogging. Maintaining a household. Building relationships with people. Me time. Hobbies. Jesus. For crying out loud, why does it seem like He always gets placed at the bottom of the "to do" list when life gets full?
 It's not right.

I want to be able to do it all. Be everything to everyone who needs me. Be Superwoman.

Is that realistic? I don't think so. Why do we women put so much pressure on ourselves to do it all? To be it all. We are human after all. But still, we will pile our proverbial plates too full and we'll need to ask for His grace to get us through.

I'm not saying I'm unhappy, please don't misunderstand me. I am truly the happiest I have ever been. Each year of my life I feel more blessed, more thankful, more content, more selfless, more self assured, more loving, and more reliant on God. I think that's a pretty great place to be.

What I am saying is I'm trying to learn what to do when I feel like there's not enough time in one day, let alone a whole lifetime to do what is required of me.

His grace is enough though, and He will always, always see me through.

What do you do when you feel like you are being pulled in many directions and your time is limited? Do you have any secret strategies you want to share with a friend?
 I'm all ears.

  1. Oh my gosh. I've read about 3 different blog posts today on the same subject! It's like God is speaking to me through you guys... it's awesome. I'm having crazy problems handling all my stuff too. Two things have been working for me so far - 1. Schedule your day. Literally your entire day, hour by hour like a crazy person. But make sure you schedule in time for meals and relaxing with hubby! 2. Wake up just a bit earlier to spend time with God.. however that may look for you (for me, I read a chapter of whatever Christian book I'm reading and then do a devotional from my Bible). Great day to start the day off - even greater if you do it with a coffee and three buttery slices of italian toast like I did this morning ;)... GOOD LUCK! xo C

  2. I know exactly how you feel! My goal is to get back into the Word and pray make specific time each day to spend with God!

  3. Whew do I know what you mean! Sometimes when I feel this way, I make myself hit reset. I force a day off and reevaluate everything and see where I can cut back. It's ok to fill our lives with good or better things, but I'm trying to stick with a few best things instead :)

  4. i wish i had strategies girl, please share with me if any others comment with some. i feel this way constantly because i too want to do it all. but you know, i think it's the fact that we WANT to do it all, not that we NEED to do it all.
and yes, Jesus always gets pushed to the bottom and it's not cool. maybe the best strategy is putting Him first and letting everything fall into place, no?
if i could only remember to do this every day! *sigh*

  5. I wish I could help you out but I've been in the same place you are now! Sometimes you really need at least HALF a day to relax..and then its like ready.set.go its back to life. Just pray to the Lord about it and he will help you find an answer that best suits your life! Good luck hun:)

  6. I'm a big list-maker. I write everything down and scratch them off one-by-one. It seems silly sometimes to write down even the smallest stuff, but it helps me prioritize and somehow it all seems more manageable when it's just a list instead of a Looney Toons tazmanian devil in your brain going around and around.
