Connect

Pin It Now!

Let's pretend we're in a coffee shop, just down the street. For a minute, let's pretend we live in the same city and we're meeting for an afternoon mocha.

What would you tell me?
Would you talk about the things God has been doing in your life?
Would you tell me about the things that have been heavy on your heart?
Maybe we would laugh at something silly.
What would we talk about?

Let's pretend we have the opportunity to converse with one another.

I'm always the one doing the talking here on this blog, and I guess that just goes without saying, but I would love more than anything to really connect with you.
The comments I receive on a daily basis truly make my day. They make me think, make me laugh, and sometimes cause me to tear up. They are really just the sweetest, most kind words.

I want today to be different. I want you to leave a comment and tell me what's going on in your world, good or bad. I want to be the one to leave an encouraging comment for you. I want to connect with you like friends do at the coffee shop.

So, without me getting down on my knees and begging you, I'm asking that you do the talking today. I will be replying to each and every person right in the comments.

Can't wait to connect with you!

  1. I think this is a great idea! Today if we were having coffee I would order a dirty chai. I've never had one, but I hear they're delicious. I would tell you that I feel so burnt out. I have been exhausted and fighting a cold all week, I have never slept so much! Despite the sickness, life is good. I am so thankful to be loved by an amazing family and husband and have never felt so blessed. :) Hope you are well too girl!

    1. A dirty chai? I love chai and now I think I need to try this version.
I'm glad that despite feeling a little crumby that you are able to find the positive things in life! I love that :) Praying you feel better!

  2. This is such a good idea! In my world, I'm trying to finish up my semester and preparing to start my summer job in May. My husband and I are house hunting (yay!) while living long distance for now (boo!) so there are a whole lot of different things going on. But the weather is finally getting nicer after snow all weekend, so that's definitely something to be thankful for!

    1. Oh my! You are so close to finishing up...the semester must be right around the corner! Hang in there :) The Mr. and I just finished our house hunt. Enjoy the process because before you know it you'll find "the one". I'm also counting our blessings because today it is in the 50's and it's a dream come true :) Thanks for connecting with me today!

  3. LOVE this. Well, with my iced coffee in hand...I would have to start by complaining sadly that someone decided they needed to use by debit card on Friday and make a rather large unauthorized purchase that wiped out my checking account. I am getting the money back, but I am stressed out. I'm also stressed out because currently my part time job isn't cutting it financially anymore. I love the job too, but I need to figure some things out. But, despite those things, I am doing good and I'm actually the happiest I have been in a long time. how about you? :)

    1. Oh yum, iced coffee. I tried making my own batch once to keep in the fridge, but it is not the same!
That is definitely some sad news, I cannot imagine how that must have felt! I'm so grateful for you that you are getting every cent back though, that's huge!
The feeling of being truly happy is the best feeling. I feel like when we're right smack dab in the middle of where God wants us that's the only place we'll feel content. Keep hanging in there and trust Him to provide the perfect job for you! :)

  4. I like this idea! :) It's been a rough few weeks being tired with pregnancy hormones and finishing up school and work. I'm so ready for summer, even though I'll be huge and sweaty! Other than that, I don't have too much going on in my life!

    1. First of all, a huge congratulations on your very exciting news! That's incredible :) I hear that once you hit the 2nd trimester you start having more energy, so that's something to look forward to!
I am with you girl, summer can not come soon enough it seems. We are ready to be more active outside, as I am sure you are :)

  5. I am so tired! I work full time and have a 5 month old. I'm recovering from a wound that I got from a botched c-section. I just want to complain to you today and then feel guilty for complaining because yes things are hard right now but I know they could be harder.

    1. Ashley, I want you to know how wonderful I think it is that you are so open, honest, and raw with your emotions. Sometimes you just need to tell someone, anyone, what's going on in your world and that is okay. If we were sitting down over a warm cup of joe I would tell you that everything is going to be okay. Cliche? Yes. True? Absolutely. I know this because I've had to lean on my Savior a time or two when nothing feels right. He is the only one and the only way everything falls into place. Congratulations on being a momma! That is beautiful and exciting. Treasure each moment with your sweet family. Cast those cares and enjoy the life you've been given. That's what I have to remind myself to do :)

  6. oh friend.. how I would LOVE to have coffee with you. I would most likely have a green tea latte though :)
I would most likely talk to you about the peace in my soul. How its incredibly refreshing and I crave that peace. However I often dig for that peace in trying to create it myself, when really it comes from the Lord.
I would probably vent to you about my lack of blogging... and ask you how you make time for it!
Then I think we would probably laugh... eat some quac and talk about ministry.

    1. HI sweet lady! I agree, to have coffee with you would be a dream! Move to WI ;)
A green tea latte...I have had that once and it was surprisingly delicious! I think I'd join ya :)
I know our conversation would be amazing; centered around what the Lord is doing in each of us, in our marriages, and in our ministries. Guac would definitely be involved. I would bring a whole vat of it into the coffee shop haha!
Maybe we'll just have to make this pretend coffee date come to life via facetime :)
Thanks for connecting with me friend!
